Who are the Lil’ Wranglers® and Elite Wranglers®?
The award-winning Lil’ and Elite Wranglers® are a youth country & western dance team patterned after the Internationally famous fightin’ Texas Aggie Wranglers from Texas A&M University. The team was created in 1999 by Sharon Toups, former Aggie Wrangler, Class of ’89. The kids range in age from 5 – 18 and have performed all over the State and beyond for over 24 years. They’ve danced at places like basketball halftime shows for the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets, Aggie Muster BBQ, the Capitol in Austin, Sea World of Texas, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Locally, they perform at festivals, Texas A&M basketball games, George Bush Library, many community events and fundraisers, and are proud to be featured at Santa’s Wonderland. They’ve danced across the country at places like Disney World, Branson, MO, Grand Ole Opry, Dollywood, and even over international waters with Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruise lines. It was a true honor to represent all of Texas as they were selected to march in the 58th Presidential Inaugural Parade and entertain at the Black Tie & Boots Inaugural Ball in Washington, DC. Our teams carry national dance titles including 2021 “Best in Show” and National Champions at Encore Performing Arts Las Vegas! We take pride in preserving the legacy of the style.
